This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.Is it too late to join the PTO?
We hold our annual Membership drive in September. However, it is never too late to join the PTO. You can come to a general meeting and sign up there.
There is also a form available on our website that may be downloaded, filled out and sent into school.
How much time will I need to devote to the PTO?
Families are asked to help out where and when they can. You can help once or often- it
depends on you! A volunteer sheet is sent to you in the Back to School Packet and is
available on this website. Look it over, see if anything interests you and help where you can.
We all have families and understand how difficult it is to find extra time to volunteer. Any time
that you can give is greatly appreciated!

What does the PTO actually do for Midland School?
The fundraisers and donations that the PTO collects are used to directly fund all of the things
the PTO does for the entire school. Our Cultural Arts Committee provides the students of Midland school with fun and informative assemblies. We have been able to bring in well known artists, authors and performers to share their talents and stories with the children. We provide assistance during RP Fun Run, Picture Day, Field day Holiday Sale & Book Fair. We sponsor a Fall Dance for the upper grades, a Fun Night for middle school, and a theme Party for the youngest students. We give Scholarships to college-bound past Midland School #1 graduates each year, as well as an 8th grade Award. We sponsor Fun Run, Staff Appreciation, Holiday Brunch, Ice-Cream Social & Class Parties. These are just some of the ways that the PTO helps to enhance he educational experience at Midland
School #1.
