Dear Midland Families and Community Members,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Midland School #1, a place where excellence, tradition, and innovation come together to create an exceptional educational experience for every child. As we celebrate our rich history, with our cornerstone laid in 1926, we continue to build on a century of academic achievement and community pride.
At Midland, we are incredibly proud of our students' remarkable accomplishments. Our music program has earned national recognition as a Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) recipient from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation, a testament to our commitment to arts education. Our talented musicians have been selected for All-State Chorus, and our band and chorus earned the prestigious Esprit de Corps Award at Music in the Parks, demonstrating the exceptional dedication of both our students and our outstanding music faculty.
Our students continue to shine academically as well. Through the WordMasters Challenge, our competitive learners engage in critical thinking and vocabulary development at the highest levels. Our state-of-the-art STEAM Lab provides hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for the innovative challenges of tomorrow, fostering creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills across all grade levels.
These achievements would not be possible without our fantastic staff, dedicated educators who bring passion, expertise, and genuine care to their work every single day. They inspire our students to reach higher, think deeper, and believe in themselves. Equally vital to our success is our supportive PTO, whose commitment to our school community enhances programs, creates opportunities, and strengthens the bond between home and school.
